Info:

A haunting Christmas tune “Shchedryk” performed by Azerbaijani national instruments on the peaks of the mesmerizing Caucasus mountains.

Shchedryk was composed by Mykola Leontovich (1877-1921) based on a Ukrainian folk tune. It became known internationally as “Carol of the Bells.” Originally this was a “well-wishing” song about a swallow that flies into a household to announce a plentiful year ahead.

Musicians: Polina Dessiatnitchenko (tar), Togrul Asadullayev (kamancha), Chinara Heydarova and Vafa Shiraliyeva (kanun), Shafa Karimov (ud), Azad Alimammadov (balaban). Music arranger Sahib Pashazade.
